If you enjoy making cookies from scratch but not all the time you can make a really large batch of cookie dough and then freeze what you don't use. Frozen raw cookie dough will store up to three months if properly sealed.
We've covered in the past how to freeze excess cookie dough in ice cube trays for portion controlled snacks, but culinary weblog My Kitchen Escapades reports great success with just placing balls of cookie dough on a sheet and freezing them until hard (around 6 hours) works just as well. Place the frozen cookie dough balls into a freezer bag labelled with the type of dough, cooking instructions, and the date you made the dough.
When using frozen dough just remember to add three minutes to the cooking time of your recipe.
