Colin and Chris Weir have scooped Europe?s biggest ever lottery win, with their ?161 Million jackpot. They have given a few hints about what they might spend the money on.
Mrs Weir said they love where they live at the moment, in a three-bedroom villa in the seaside town of Largs in North Ayrshire, but might consider buying a second or third home.
Explaining their lifestyle, she said: ?We have a detached villa. A three-bedroomed house in Largs. It?s a nice wee house.? Most 3-bed properties in Largs are worth about ?150,000, but they could now easily afford the most expensive property in the region, the Blair Estate, which boasts an 18-bedroom Grade 1 listed castle, 1250 acres and a pheasant shoot as well as four farms.
The couple, who retired from their jobs due to ill health about three years ago, have lived in their home, for 18 years.
The couple made it clear that they had no intention on making any rash decisions or extravagant gestures.
Travel was the one luxury they were, however, already considering. Mr Weir said he would love to visit Ayers Rock in Australia, as well as Cambodia and Thailand.
Mrs Weir went on: ?For Colin, holidays have never really appealed with travelling being such a hassle for him but first- class could definitely persuade him.
?We have both always wanted to see the Great Wall of China and Colin would love to stand at the foot of Ayers Rock in Australia.
Colin also said he wanted to go and see his favourite football team Barcelona ? previously only viewed from his sofa ? and that he might even splash out on a private box.
?We also love art galleries so this gives us the chance to visit those in Paris and in Russia. These are all things we thought we would never see.?
Mr Weir said he does not plan to swap their two Suzuki cars because they are both still reliable.
But his wife added: ?I?ll be swapping cars.?
