Carrier claims Samsung Galaxy Note II could be directly be upgraded to Android 4.3

Note2-Official-11

Australian carrier Tesla appears to have confirmed that the 4G Galaxy Note II?would skip the Android 4.2.2 update. This statement corroborates previous rumors suggesting that Samsung would deny the upgrade for several Exynos 4 devices.

Whether this would apply to the international variant is still a mystery but we naturally expect Samsung to directly upgrade the Note II to the third flavor of Jelly Bean. The Galaxy SIII could also face a similar treatment but it seems unlikely since the Jelly Bean 4.2.2 is near-completion judging from the first batch of leaked firmware which are feature-complete.

This isn?t a new approach, last year several NovaThor-powered Samsung midrange devices skipped ICS and were upgraded to Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean earlier this year. This time Samsung may have made a wise choice as Jelly Bean 4.2.2 is quite dated & 4.3 being just around the corner.

Samsung have elected globally to skip the 4.2.2 update for this device and will instead go to a newer version of Android. No schedule has been provided for this update.

As usual no release dates were announced, Samsung on its side didn?t confirm this claim nor do we know whether this situation might affect Note 2 devices outside of Australia.?We?ll keep you updated as more information comes in!
