Carolina Performing Arts will present C!RCA: Circus That Moves the Heart, Mind, and Soul at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday, March 20th and 21st, in Memorial Hall on the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill campus. The show was created by C!RCA artistic director Yaron Lifschitz and the ensemble of the Australian company, which is based in Fortitude Valley, Queensland.

On its website, the company writes, ?C!RCA is a large-scale creation for seven performers, remixed from three of the company?s most acclaimed works. After lauded seasons in Germany, Edinburgh[, Scotland], and London[, England], C!RCA continues its ongoing touring worldwide.

?Flexible, scalable, and capable of playing 600- to 1,600-seat theaters, this is C!RCA?s most accessible and engaging main-stage work ? the perfect show to bring C!RCA?s sophisticated sensibility to wider audiences everywhere.?

According to Carolina Performing Arts:

?In a jaw-dropping fusion of dance, extreme circus skills and raw emotion, Australia?s cheeky C!RCA performers push their own dangerous limits at breakneck speed. Abandoning themselves to terrifying adventures, their signature style combines physical beauty, formidable talent, and a barrage of sound, light and projection.

?Tapping into the fragile nature of all that it means to be human, this sophisticated, hugely entertaining company is muscling its way into the mainstream, blazing its way through Europe and leaving audiences and critics hungering for more.?

In addition to director Yaron Lifschitz, the C!RCA creative team for this show includes producer Diane Stern, associate director Ben Knapton, lighting designer Jason Organ, and costume designer Libby McDonnell.

In reviewing a previous performance of the group, Lyn Gardner of The Guardian (U.K.) asked, ?Can circus do politics? Can it say meaningful things about the relationship between men and women? Explore the risks and co-operation necessary for humanity to survive when all seems lost? The answer is a resounding yes in the case of Australian circus company C!RCA, which comes trailing glory and doesn?t disappoint in this 75-minute Edinburgh-bound show of greatest hits. Not since James Thi?r?e?s Au Revoir Parapluie, and Les 7 Doigts de la Main?s Traces, has the U.K. seen a circus show quite so knee-tremblingly sexy, beautiful and moving.?

Carolina Performing Arts presents C!RCA: CIRCUS THAT MOVES THE HEART, MIND, AND SOUL at 7:30 p.m. March 20 and 21 in Memorial Hall, 114 E. Cameron Ave., Chapel Hill, NC 27514, on the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill campus.
